Social media expressions of love

Flowers

What is love, anyway? To me, not those #relationshipgoals (with necessary heart-eyed emojis). Not expensive gifts or 100 roses or anyone to spend money on me in any way. Not good night and good morning texts or hearts on my facebook wall and picture caption. I don’t want anyone to show me affection because they feel obligated to or for others to see. Hey, i hate labels anyway.
To me, love is someone who would look at the stars with me and listen to Pink Floyd. Someone who i can travel and explore the world with. Someone who will listen to me and actually care. Someone who will send me those “this reminded me of you” texts. Some who i can laugh with until we cry. Someone who will respect me and my life choices. Someone who will, above all, be my best friend. Someone who i can feel good with.
To me, those are, speaking in eloquent social media way, relationship goals AF.

  5. Many times the people who are posting on social media about their significant other have those types of relationships you just explained :) I know that's the case for me at least.

  6. Agree, but if all what you're saying is not the only "love" but just a nice sprinkle on your daily routine, I think it's cute ;)

  9. I feel that some people post excessive 'relationship goals' picture to assure themselves that their love is real and prove to the others. It's ok to share from time to time but love it not expressed only this way

  11. I understand you completely. Everyday I feel like nobody really cares about me, like I do care about them, but everyone seems to care only about themselves. This makes me so sad. Does love really exist? Or is it just a fantasy?

    1. Thank you! It sure does, you just have to look a little closer. My city isn't considered as 'pretty' by many, but it's just the matter of where you look at :)

  16. Love is anything and everything - the ultimate emotional attachment. As you noted, love is being able to share. One thing that is not love is posting on Facebook how much someone loves someone. :)

  17. I couldn't have said it better myself if I tried! :-)

Such a beautiful and rare notion, thank you so much for sharing!

(P.S - I think we should add "Someone who will let you take a bite from their cookie!" ;-) )

  18. Hello again! This is a lovely post and I love your 'relationship goals'. You have a very raw way of seeing the world and it's good :) Also you have a great taste in music, I love Pink Floyd!

Also, just to cheer you up, here's something that actually DID remind me of you & your blog http://www.poetryfoundation.org/poem/174258 let's see if you can see why :) Susanna from www.98daysblog.wordpress.com yep still not letting me post with my wordpress id x

  19. I loved what you said here. Anytime I see #relationshipgoals I automatically think that person has way too much time on their hands. And I really agree with your points. It is lovely to have someone in your life who just wants to be around you, respect you and care about you, this can be more meaningful then materialistic stuff or the corny stereotype stuff like flowers and chocolates. Thanks for sharing love this blog. :) http://www.bauchlefashion.com

  21. I think love lies behind little things, like a hug when you really need one, a flower, a special moment, a "yes, I am here". Sharing moments together. Be happy together. Smile and laugh at each other.

  22. Someone who you can laugh with till you cry, yes that is love. And this is what we should live our life for. Not some relationship goals
