  1. I think "I remember when I was younger and I wanted to be beautiful; now I’m older and I want to be intelligent. I want to burn hearts with brilliance and engulf souls with compassion. I want to be loved for my thoughts and nothing else" has to be my favourite quote. It is just so beautiful and sums up exactly how I feel at times xx

  2. I'm echoing Charli Bruce post, I feel she summed up how I was going to reply. I'm 33 now and I want people to know me without the beauty - the inner beauty.

  6. I love quotes because they simply get me through the day and it's always inspiring to have them in a frame or on a wall in your office. As for this list, one of my top favorites would be “I think we regular people may have forgotten a basic truth―we don’t really have the right to judge anyone else.” -Kanae Minato. It's something that we can apply with what's happening in the world today.

  7. This is a great list of quotes, I agree with quite a few people who've already commented, that JK Rowling quote is ace. My favourite not on this list would have to be by Marcel Proust, "The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes."

  8. I don't think most people understand the importance of affirmations. Most people make fun of quotes, saying they are cliche, but cliches are cliches for a reason.
I loved the first quote the most!

  11. Great collection of quotes! I always love reading Nietzsche's work. Nice that had you a quote of him as well. One of my favourite quotes is:

The essence of optimism is that it takes no account of the present, but it is a source of inspiration, of vitality and hope where others have resigned; it enables a man to hold his head high, to claim the future for himself and not to abandon it to his enemy. (Dietrich Bonhoeffer)

    And:

It's a terrible thing, i think, in life to wait until you're ready. I have this feeling that actually no one is ever ready to do anything. There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now. (Hugh Laurie)

  12. “Remember that everyone you meet is afraid of something, loves something and has lost something.” - H. Jackson Brown Jr. So true, we all have weaknesses and even the most hard hearted of people love something, even murderers and serial killers.

  20. This is my fave among all of these: “Great things are done by a series of small things brought together.” -Vincent Van Gogh

It's so relatable because before reaching something big, you start with the baby steps and time in order to fully achieve your ultimate goals

  25. Lovely quotes ! But I have to disagree with one ... Passing time is just an illusion ... Believe me , I am 55 now , and passing time is no illusion at all . In fact , time passes way too soon , before you know it, life is over.I don't want to come across negative minded , more the opposite... enjoy each day and make the Best of every day , we can't get them back !!!

  26. I have no idea which ones I liked most, but Van Gogh's quote has always been something I believe in. Great things do come from small things combined. Much like when people come together for a greater cause than their own agendas. :)

  29. So many great quotes! I especially like the quotes from Van Gogh. I never would've pegged him as an inspirational quote kinda guy but there you go!

  30. I can't decide which one I like more, the one from Kanae Minato or the one from Van Gogh.
But after more weighing, I guess I'll go with the one from Van Gogh as my favourite of the lot. “If I am worth anything later I am worth something now For wheat is wheat Even if people think it’s a grass in the beginning”
I liked these two (Kanae Minato's one as well) because it reflects so much of the issue in our current society. People passing judgement on others, sometimes even on strangers they've never met before in real life, based only on a post on social media which we shouldn't even take as the whole truth. On the other side, there's also a group of people who are always wallowing in self-pity and battling issues of having no sense of self-worth. Hence, I feel that these two quotes really deserve to be added to our list of quotes of the day, to serve as a daily reminder to ourselves on how much we're worth and how we should be treating everyone else.

  32. Life is a choice, not a destiny ... How true is that ! I love actually all of the quotes you have chosen . It allways amuses me how so many people share quotes on social media platforms , yet don't live by them themselves :( I believe , we need to get to a certain age to realize , that we won't be here forever and best to do is to make the most and best of every day NOW , while we can . Tomorrow isn't promised ! Very nice post , thoughtful reading :)
