1. They are full of interesting stories.
“Travelling - it leaves you speechless, then it turns you into a storyteller”. I was never a fan of gossip and other superficial stories. If your definition of good time is going blackout drunk and that’s all you can talk about, i won’t exactly die to talk to you. I’d rather hear about your travel adventures, places you saw and that time you accidentally almost lost your flight / got robbed / died (this took kind of a morbid turn didn’t it).

2. You can learn from them.
While travelling, i met many people from all around the world. Most of them were also travellers. I loved talking with them and i always finished conversation with a new knowledge - about their culture, new places i had had no idea they even existed, or just a great tips for travelling. Sometimes they have amazing life stories that amuse you or great attitude and way of looking at things that inspire you. Also you can practice your English or other foreign language you know - there’s literally no downside.

3. They (usually) have a great personality.
As a traveller, you have to deal with a lot of things you weren’t exactly hoping for - delays, losing stuff, potential life threatening situations etc. At some point you learn to deal with them (without losing your mind). After getting to know other cultures and societies, you become more open-minded and tolerant. If you travel, you’re probably curious, comfortable with the unkown and adventurous. All of this doesn’t mean you’re a good person, but interesting? For sure.

4. “What’s there?”
When i was a kid, i wanted to play as far from the house as i can and to look what’s around every corner because i was curios to see “what’s there”. Now when i’m older, i travel because i want to see “what’s there”. I think everyone else who travels has that little and simple “what’s there” and is able to feel that rush of happiness when they wander around amazing new place or see a breath-taking view because we got our answer and it’s so much better than we expected. I want to be around people who are able to appreciate the moment and the beauty of it.

I don't have much time today, so i decided to take you for a walk around one of my favorite places (if not the favorite) - Belgrade.
It's a city in south east Europe. According to many, it's not a pretty capital, and i say, well, you're what you see. Here's how i (and the camera of my phone) see it:

This is one of my favorite pictures i took recently. It's captured while i was waiting for the bus after exhausting but great visit to the gallery. It was my favorite part of the day, something between day and twilight, when light is soft and sky is becoming pink-ish (although the effect may changed colors a little bit).

Oh hello it's me. Belgrade (Beograd on serbian) means white city (beo - white, grad -city) but sometimes it's rather gray. You probably couldn't tell, but this is an area with some of the fanciest restaurants (and river view is really beautiful). Fun fact (i became so informative all of sudden): Belgrade lays on not one but 2 rivers, Danube and Sava, which s great because we don't have a sea.

Here's the view from one splav (or splay, or floating club basically). It was summer, around 1am, party just started and i, naturally, had to capture everything pretty i see. If you ever want to experience nightlife here, don't miss splavs, it's a cool experience.

If you're more into fancy night-outs,  here's how National Theater in Belgrade looks. I was watching Velika Drama (i think it can be translated as The Great Drama)  by Siniša Kovačević. It's one of the best things i've ever watched, it's incredibly sad but it's also very funny (i guess you'll end up crying either way).

So me and my friends had the phase when we really wanted to find a cool chilling spot on the roof of a building (we still do though, if you know any tell me) and we managed to snuck into one and enjoy the lovely view.

Pre par dana, za vreme mog skitanja Beogradom. U pozadini se čujem ja koja pevam Spider Pig ali to se baš i ne uklapa u atmosferu.

I love this place, it's a gallery near my university so whenever i have spare 20-30ish minutes between lessons i go there. And apparently sing Spider Pig (as i wrote in the caption).

At the end, it's probably not the most beautiful city you'll ever see, although you can find a lot of beauty here. As i mentioned earlier, the best thing about it is it's soul. For some people, including me, the feeling of being here, like a big hug. After all, you can come and see yourself.

This was inspired by one of my classes in college. Through our education, we  are usually taught a lot of bullshit and things that are supposed to be learned by heart and inevitably forgotten right after the exam, so this fracture of today’s lesson was a positive surprise for me. Some things you hear in school/college are actually good food for thought and are so universal that even centuries and centuries after, they’re still relevant (that’s why i love literature). Sapere aude means Dare to know, first mentioned by the roman poet Horace and it was the motto of the Age of Enlightenment (which we talked about in mentioned class). This brilliant thought of Immanuel Kant illustrates it very well:
“If I have a book to serve as my understanding, a pastor to serve as my conscience, a physician to determine my diet for me, and so on, I need not exert myself at all. I need not think, if only I can pay: others will readily undertake the irksome work for me. The guardians who have so benevolently taken over the supervision of men have carefully seen to it that the far greatest part of them (including the entire fair sex) regard taking the step to maturity as very dangerous, not to mention difficult. Having first made their domestic livestock dumb, and having carefully made sure that these docile creatures will not take a single step without the go-cart to which they are harnessed, these guardians then show them the danger that threatens them, should they attempt to walk alone. Now this danger is not actually so great, for after falling a few times they would in the end certainly learn to walk; but an example of this kind makes men timid and usually frightens them out of all further attempts.“

So, my thought of the day would be dare to think - which is a kind of a sequel of my last post. Don’t be just another sheep, or brick in the wall, or Mr. Nobody.
In our world, it’s a revolutionary act to turn the media off and brain on (and i see the irony of telling you this on Internet a.k.a. the most popular media today).
So start the revolution, start questioning things.

He is called Mister Nobody and he’s known for being not special at all and doing nothing unusual. Every day he wakes up, drinks his coffee, doesn’t have time to have breakfast, catches his bus, goes to work, has small talk with his colleagues, works, goes back home, eats in front of the TV and goes to sleep. He looks like everyone else. He talks like everyone else. He wears old but elegant black coat and his eyes are kinda empty. His ringtone is the basic one that was already in his phone. His neighbors think that he is strange but nice. He always stops to pet a dog. Every 2 months he goes to the same hairdresser down the street and he always wants the same haircut. He doesn’t have favorite color or animal or day in the week or dinosaur. When he was a kid he used to have dinosaur slippers, though. He doesn’t like his job but he doesn’t want to change it. He wants to visit Greece, but he’ll probably never go there.
When he was younger, he had a lot of wishes and ambitions, but he thought that it was too inconvenient to change the things he’s already used to. What happened? Nothing at all. Now he has none.
You’ve already seen him. Maybe on the street or in the bus, but you didn’t pay attention, and maybe in the mirror.
