Thought of the day - Happiness is all about the little things. It's nice to chase something big but don't forget to stop and notice details. Sun kissing your skin, pretty color, stranger who has really nice perfume, smiling at someone, succeeding in something that matters to you  (not important how big or small it is).. do you notice those things? Are you able to look at things from another angle and find beauty in everything? Is your glass half full?

  1. Dunja,

It's nice that you made a list of things that makes you happy. By the way, what does halcyon mean?

Have you heard of the term positive declaration? It is what you do as soon as you wake up. Besides practicing the attitude of gratification throughout the day, besides thinking of things you are thankful for, you can also do positive declarations.

Say things like, I am beautiful, I am happy, I am having a good day... and so on...

    AMAZING LIFE DAILY

  2. Very nice list. At the moment I don't see the beauty around me and I don't notice the little things that happen because I am sad. I wish I could though.

    1. Thank you Joanna. I hope you'll stop being sad as soon as possible. It's okay to feel sad from time to time though, that's life and it's normal. Hugs x

  5. It's a lovely post. As to your questions, yes, I do take notice even the smallest things. It is those smallest things that make my day. Whether looking at my daughter sleeping or playing with her, I always notice and be thankful for what we have and don't have.

  6. It is so important to step back and notice the small things during the busyness of life. I like to add late night talks, playing games with family, being together with loved ones. Life is so much more meaningful when you pay attention to these moments and times. That is where happiness lies. I loved your list and it made me think of my list.

  8. Yes yes yes.. I love this. As Robert told me this week when I was saying that I don't have time for anything because I am so busy and stressed... he said: "Do you have time to smile". Oh wait. Yes the small things in life. And then the quote of Gabrielle Chanel: "The best things in life are for free (the second best things are very expensive" =)

  12. Finding forgotten money, everywhere! I always "prepare" for future scenarios by keeping emergency money on random areas - in my work drawer, my planner, etc. I usually forget about these until I start cleaning up. And then, it's "thank you past self!". One thing I would add to your list would be hearing my son laugh and call me. He's just a little over 1.5 years so he just calls me "Nana". Even if it isn't exactly correct, it's the sweetest thing I've ever heard in my life :)

    1. That's actually a good advice, we have to do things our future selves will thank us for. Little kids are the cutest :)

  17. I agree that happiness is about the little things, the everyday comfort that we often take for granted but otherwise makes our days wonderful.

I made a similar list once and these are the ones I can remember off the top of my head: warm bubble baths, long road trips, lots of hugs and kisses, just chilling drinking cold beer with a live band playing on the background, little flowers, big flowers, that quiet time before sunset when most are having their siesta. :)
